So, okay, anyway, yeah. This week I'm going to southern California to see friends and family, visit some open mikes, test out the new car, and generally have fun. I thought I'd post my music schedule here in case anyone wants to come out and visit--but be forewarned, open mikes can be an amazing mix of weird, wonderful, and wish-you-were-somewhere-else.

Sunday night: See Hem in San Francisco. (Note to waterpoint: The joke's been made.)
Monday: Drive down to North Hollywood to play at Kulak's Woodshed. Kulak's is a great independent home for acoustic music in the San Fernando valley. One or two musicians I know from the bay area (Russell and maybe Jay) will also be there, which is cool.
Tuesday: I might go to Ventura to play, but instead I'll probably go to Troubadour ("the" Troubadour?) to see Hem again.
Wednesday: Twiggs in San Diego, and dinner with Rob, I hope.
Thursday: Up to Santa Barbara to visit xythian and play at Dargan's.
Friday: Drive back up to San Jose to play a few songs in a singer-songwriter circle at the Espresso Garden.

It all sounds pretty busy, but really, since it's just open mikes, it's a lot of driving, a lot of sitting around, and a few minutes here and there of performing.
