Nothing happens in 13 Going On 30 that you will not be expecting1, but it's still a lot of fun to watch Jennifer Garner play a thirteen-year-old.

1Well, almost nothing.

I have a strange and out-of-character desire to see that film. (Mostly because Mark Ruffalo is in it.)

He is one terrific actor, and it's fun to watch him in this too, although the script doesn't ask much of him.

I so loved him in My Life Without Me. Not as much in Eternal Sunshine, but he's rapidly becoming a favourite actor.

Did you see In The Cut? That was weird.

Yeah. Isn't that the film with Meg Ryan and such? I liked him in that too. My Life Without Me takes the cake though. I agree with you about In The Cut, tres bizzare.

Rented it last night, oddly, as a double feature with Blue Car. It was kind of fun, but not a good mystery.

I liked it a lot, but as a New York mood piece, not a mystery. But then, as you know, I'm pretty much immune to plot anyway.

I loved My Life Without Me - but I'm a Sarah Polley fan. But Ruffalo was terrific in that, and also in You Can Count On Me.

I'm a Sarah Polley fan as well. So seeing her and Mark in that was wonderful for me. I also loved him in You Can Count On Me. That film turned me into a Laura Linney fan.

I also enjoyed Sarah in Go. But...I haven't dragged myself off to see Dawn of the Dead yet. Something tells me I'll be skipping that one altogether.

I loved Go. Dawn of the Dead is on my list, but it's not very high on it.
