The major media outlets now provide a daily scorecard of which governments have agreed to a U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. Are there any countries, aside from the U.S., where the public supports a war?

(I just checked the latest polls to make sure we're still pro-war. Apparently, Americans still favor a war but will oppose it if Iraq destroys some missiles tomorrow, a result that I find bewildering. Lots of other fascinating numbers in this poll.)

"Alice", an AAA radio station in San Francisco (described by a friend as pink alternative for girls), has added Catherine Zeta Jones's "All That Jazz" to its playlist. Apparently the Chicago soundtrack is the #1 record in San Francisco. I think that's cool.

Two days this week I tuned into their morning show and heard them conducting their usual mix of contests, news, and small talk in "show tune cadence", to a karaokeish background, which is just strange.

I like elections.

Iran is holding (has held, I guess) local elections today. "Conservatives, aware of their unpopularity, have listed their candidates mainly as independents."

Also on CNN I found Election Watch, a compendium of data on elections going on now, or recently occurred, or coming up, all over the world.
