I don't know much about John Edwards, but in Slate last Friday, William Saletan accused him of "the most interesting thing anybody in this race has said so far": An argument that Bush is anti-capitalist, pro-taxes, soft on crime, and unpatriotic. I haven't read the actual speech, but the analysis is great.

Amazon now has movie showtimes, complete with customer reviews. So far my reaction is mostly "Weird." I don't see myself going there first for showtimes, but I can imagine being serendipitously sucked in. (That's how I found out about it--I was looking for a movie soundtrack, and along with the "video & dvd" results I got back showtimes.)

The Creative Commons folks have a new suggested method for embedding license information in MP3s, photos, etc.

It's juvenile, but I still get a kick out of The Antic Muse's ongoing insistence that the National Review's group blog "The Corner" is gay. Which sets the stage for today's suggestion that Antonin Scalia is gay. More seriously, she notes that, in Scalia's dissenting opinion supporting laws against gay sex, he warns that the logic used to overturn Bowers v. Hardwick could also be applied to Roe v. Wade.

My other favorite post on today's Supreme Court decision is from Daily Kos, who says, in essence: "Scalia thinks today's decision will require the court to allow same-sex marriage. He's right! Woo hoo!"

It turns out that if you complain to enough coworkers about your stupid medical problems, eventually one of them will tell you you should go see a movie and get your mind off things. That is, one of them besides [livejournal.com profile] artname, who can't be trusted because he just always thinks you should go see a movie.

Anyway, I mostly enjoyed Hollywood Homicide. )

[livejournal.com profile] artname may be right--maybe you should always go see a movie.
