Aug. 1st, 2003 12:14 pmA quick question for those of you who like my music--or even, have heard enough of my music to decide you don't like it: Who do I remind you of?
I'm trying to write a bio for press kits and things, and it seems like it'd be good to throw in some points of comparison, and, well, I know who I'm thinking of when I write and play, but I also know other people don't necessarily hear what a performer hears. Best example I know: The Walkmen.

The band's other standout attribute, Leithhauser's world-weary, unfiltered-cigarette vocals, is often cited as being reminiscent of early-U2 Bono--a comparison he begs to differ with. "This is my deepest secret I've never told: The whole time everyone's saying I sound like Bono, I was trying to sound like Roy Orbison. No one gets it."Anyway, if you have any thoughts on this, please post them here or email me. I'd really appreciate it.
"I think that has to be built in," Bauer suggests kindly.
