You can read the Boston.com article for details, but basically it's a way to start conference calls from an AIM session. I don't actually know how you can see it for yourself. Oh, here it is. They're marketing it to business users.
I don't work for AOL--I work for Lightbridge, the company that built the voice conferencing part. AOL is bundling it with a similar feature from WebEx--my ex-employer's archrival. It sure is a small valley.
