I don't think I'd drive this route again in the fall. The Columbia River along I-90, which in winter was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen, in autumn was... nice. Here's a picture.

One thing that hasn't changed, though: Spokane is the saddest city in the world.

I had a great little weekend in Seattle: Hanging around with Scott and Megan and (briefly) Shawn, going to Larsen's (twice!) and the Trading Musician and the new Central Library.

Scott and I played a good show at Conor Byrne's, made better by the presence of my cousin and Kate's roommate. (The only bummer was that I didn't manage to get the word out to my old coworkers.) My favorite part was playing on a few of Scott's songs, and having him play on some of mine. Some highlights: We did the "Jessie's Girl/China Girl" medley that Russell and I have been playing, and played "Cut the Wire" together for the first time in person. (I had contributed backing tracks to his recording through the magic of the Internet.) Also we did "Southdown", which Scott and Shannon wrote for the Blogathon last year and I covered the next day. Anyway, it was a lot of fun.

I really like this batch of photos. I also have an amazing almost-posed shot of Scott and Shawn and Megan, which sadly I am too kind to make public, and a whole bunch of the library, which I will post later.
