Some things I've done in the last 24 hours for the first time since the election:

• sleep before midnight
• eat before noon
• exercise
• laundry
• shave
• predictably, bleed

Also wrote and recorded a new song. More about that later. Meanwhile, psychedelia:

Inspired mostly by Josh Woodward, I submitted a song this week to Song Fight. Every week they decree a couple of titles; people write songs to suit; and next week, people listen to them and vote. So, I wrote a song called "I Am Tempted", because "Massive Intelligence Failure" is the title of at least two kinds of song I can't write.

I'll be putting a higher-bitrate version on my site later in the week, but in the meantime, you can check it out over at Song Fight, along with the other entries. There's some good stuff there--so far I've enjoyed the ones by Max the Cat, Forty Second Songs (kind of Malarkies-esque) and of course Josh.

I've got a solo set in San Francisco tomorrow night, at the Brain Wash laundromat and cafe. I've played there before but I'm really looking forward to this show because it's with my friend Scott and Goh Nakamura and Chris Porro, and, you know, I already know I like their songs. I'm the opening act, starting at 8.
