San Jose's Phantom Galleries are cool.

76 S. First: ``Infested'' by Chris Eckert (view after dark); ``Larvae'' by Karen Carlo Salinger

This is the one I want to see.

"Infested" is the most memorable thing I've seen in the Phantom Galleries. I have little idea how it works, but it's sculpted, strobe-lit, and in motion, so it looks like a constant stream of giant bugs crawling out of this upright tube. I guess it's actually a small loop, and the strobe keeps you from seeing it reset.

Oh, never mind, I've got that in my kitchen.
