ripoff

I discovered tonight that about 600 copies of my solo CD had been stolen. Don't know when.

This isn't as big a shock as it might be. They were all in three cardboard boxes in an unsecured storage area outside my apartment. The reason they were there is that I'd decided it would be okay if someone took them. I stopped thinking a while ago that I would ever sell them.

Still, theft makes me feel bad in my stomach. They also took some empty suitcases, so I guess I'm packing light for the Vermillion Lies tour.

On the bright side: Assuming those boxes end up in the dumpster somewhere, that turns the remaining 400 CDs into incredibly valuable collector's items.

Wow. I wonder if the crooks even knew what they were stealing. Like, did they not notice that the boxes were full of the same cd? Or did they think they hit some sort of cd jackpot, and that they were going to hit up every record store in town selling them back for cash and/or credit?

Sorry about being a victim of theft. It really is the sickest feeling.

I'm sure they had no idea. They saw three boxes that were heavy and said KEEP AWAY FROM HEAT, and figured what the hell. Later they opened them up, found they were full of TK, and, well, probably dumped them somewhere. I might ask around the local record stores.

This isn't nearly as bad as the time I came home to find my door kicked in and my laptop gone. But yeah, it feels sick.
