Con Man was good, a strange, sad, sometimes funny documentary about James Hogue, a compulsive con artist who, among other things, became a track star at Palo Alto High School in his 20s under an assumed name, went to jail, and enrolled at Princeton (and joined the track team) under another assumed name. The filmmaker, a Paly student at the time, was in attendance at the screening, as were one of Hogue's teachers ("he still has my copy of Hamlet", she said) and I'm sure others who knew him.

The Anarchist Cookbook was alright--I laughed fairly often, although I wasn't sure how often the filmmakers were laughing with me. It needs some editing, and maybe some rethinking.

Cinequest has added another screening of Potestad on Tuesday, 7:15, at the Camera 3. [livejournal.com profile] artname, it's your lucky day! Also, another screening of the opening night movie, The Movie Hero, Saturday at 8:30 in Campbell. I recommend both to people who like those respective sorts of thing.
