I got back from lunch to find a notification that Powell's had finally come upon a copy of Taash and the Jesters, a fantasy book I remember loving as a kid, in the Media Center at my elementary school. So I went to the web site to order it, but someone else already had. Never go to lunch.

The good news is, my library has two copies! Also, here's the author's home page.

Dude, Amazon has 10 copies. I mean, they're evil and all that, but ..

I really dislike virtual Powell's. Their prices are always insanely high, they messed up an order from me once, and they purport to be a one-stop book shopping place but rarely do they have what I want. Unlike the real store, where I always come out of there with armfuls of junk.

Anyway, in case your library burns down and you want to buy a copy, check out ABE (http://www.abebooks.com). There are a ton of copies of the book, cheapest currently being around $6.

Well, based solely on your recommendation, I want to switch my useless affiliate links over to ABE, but the application process looks complicated. So maybe in autumn.
