LiveJournal, emo heaven. "Just as emo music thrives on catharsis, so do these diaries. Teenage strife abounds, but not every entry is a catalog of gloom; many diaries mirror the manic rollercoaster that is teen life, veering wildly between elation and misery." Go ahead.

I'm now thinking of using the genre label "unemo" in my bio. Or maybe "dispash".

speaking of unemo and bio's: i've been listening to a local troubadour who goes by the name of patrick park a lot lately. he released an ep earlier this year and just released a proper LP last month. i thought the ep was pleasant, if not all together memorable, alt. country/folk-pop, but the LP is altogether something different. with a major label footing the bill, you can hear the difference in production and, frankly, i'm huge on clean sounding, thoughtfully produced records.

to draw comparisons (pigeonholing artists in one of my favorite past-times--perhaps i should add that to the bio) i'd say he's ryan adams' and elliott smith's bastard love-child.

and about nadine: best buy.com has one of their records for $12 including shipping, a bit less than the site you directed me to. but it was one of their older records--which one do you recommend again?

Park's name rings a bell, but I can't remember from where. Possibly just from one of my occasional visits to his old label's web site. My initial reaction to the songs on his web site is 'too much harmonica' but I could probably get over it.

I could use some production values. Actually money isn't holding me back as much as knowing people. Oh yeah, but first, I could use some better songs. I'm gonna move on to the next topic.

The right Nadine album to start with is Downtown, Saturday. Miles of Music (http://www.milesofmusic.com/) has it for 51 cents more--and you can get free shipping if you just order another $40 worth of stuff! DO IT! DO IT!

best buy it is, then. :P

oh, and i know you've put up a link before to some of your work and were asking for comparisons (like i said, i love comparing artists to one another), but since i don't actually have the capability to listen to music at work, i was wondering if you had cd's for sale. i could send you money or paypal or whatever. i'd been meaning to ask you about this for a while now as i'm really curious as to what the heck you sound like!

and, y'know, if i can be the first one on the bandwagon before all the hipsters, then, i win, right? RIGHT. ;)

Wow, it hadn't even occurred to me that you might not be readily able to listen to stuff online. How 90s!

I don't have a CD for sale, but for my recent LA trip I burned some CD-Rs with three of my better recordings. I can mail one to you--just send me (at eostrom@drowning.org (mailto:eostrom@drowning.org)) your address.
