Update: That Indian place (India Pavilion, I think) for dinner tonight before the Cantab; Wednesday in Boston (falafel lunch, ICA afternoon, Bangkok City dinner?); Tuesday still hazy, but maybe Bertucci's in Harvard Square.

Should be harvard sq if you're doing Passim, yes? Be aware there's a veggie restaurant "in" Passim. Of variable quality.

Yep. The only question in my mind was, just as you say, whether to go to Bertucci's or eat at Passim.

Some suggestions to consider:

Fire & Ice, on Church St., steps away from Passim. Pick your raw ingredients from a large salad-bar setup, choose your sauce, and bring them to the grill where they will be assembled into a meal before your very eyes. Excellent option if you're being vegetarian these days.

I think there's a restaurant/brewery called Rock City or something like that, also on Church St., right be

Border Cafe. Because you don't get enough Mexican food living in California. Good margaritas.

Panang. Great Malaysian food, above the garage (the actual garage, diagonally across the street from the minimall called "The Garage") on JFK St.

The House of Blues! Before it closes! (If it hasn't already.)

There's always Casablanca.

There's a cool new place called Grafton St. on the corner of Mass. ave and I'm assuming Grafton, which has one of those big open-air windows in front for people-watching. Decent funky-Irish-pub food.

All of them sound good, but I'm mostly sticking to nostalgia on this trip, and the only one of those I might've been to is the Border Cafe, and I can't remember if I ever actually went there or just heard stories about bugs or something else gross.

On the other hand, my nostalgia for Bertucci's is just because that's where we used to go for big dinners when some mudder came to visit, even though nobody really liked it, or maybe just some people didn't. So maybe that's a memory I should put to rest anyway.

The Border Cafe is where Dave saw the cockroaches on the table! We go there anyhow, mostly when Jay's sister wants to. We haven't seen any cockroaches there lately. That must have been a special.

You know what? Fire & Ice can bite me. For the money they should assemble the food for us instead of making us stand in line for the ingredients and THEN stand in line to get it fried up. I can't cook worth a damn so why should I be able to assemble a good stir-fry? I need expert assistance.
