Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World was 138 minutes of men acting manly, plus one who tried and was found wanting, and a scientific interlude on the Galapagos Islands. I enjoyed it, but for two and a half hours of costumes on the high seas, my pick is Pirates of the Caribbean.

I enjoyed it, though there was less about the tactics and strategy of sea battle than I would've liked.

I liked Pirates because of the It Men factor, but as a story, I liked M&C more. It tugged at my heart strings.
