The MATA Festival this year will include a program by Counter)induction, one of whose members is my college friend Doug Boyce. It was at Doug's... parents'?... house one... Thanksgiving?... that I first heard Assassins--I still haven't seen it, but Sondheim's songs for it are among my favorites in musical theater. Revenge Movies

I guess I should read the revenge article when I have a spare moment. Mean Girls was a weird film: reminiscent of Heathers, but with a more positive ending; not a romantic comedy so much as a social commentary, but a little draggy and long on public humiliation; and whoa, she wore way too much makeup all the time. I was left quite ambivalent.

I liked the monologue, and not much else. But I think you would've related to Harry and Ron's reaction to Hermione's development over summer vacation. I think I've got those names right.
