Jun. 15th, 2004 08:44 pmApparently Americans will be driving a lot this summer. Cute gas station photo.
The travel section goes to Newfoundland: Clifford Krauss has an idyll on the Avalon Peninsula, and Katherine Ashenburg visits two small islands, just south of Newfoundland, that are legally part of France.
David Handelman says airplanes used to be a place of "relative Zen", but now there's too much in-flight entertainment.
The style section says the 2004 Prius is less geeky than the old one, so I guess it's okay to buy one now.
A rare trip into the sports section: The eleventh-hour rush to rebuild the marathon route for the Greece Olympics. Apparently the story behind the name "marathon" is apocryphal? I feel so betrayed.
