I don't post a lot about my job here, but I thought I would let you guys know I got an offer from Microsoft. It's a nice offer, but it's not the offer I want. We'll see what happens.

Congress Threatens Live Music and Dancing!!

From HR 834, an anti-meth act:
Whoever, for a commercial purpose, knowingly promotes any rave, dance, music, or other entertainment event, that takes place under circumstances where the promoter knows or reasonably ought to know that a controlled substance will be used or distributed in violation of Federal law or the law of the place where the event is held, shall be fined under title 18, United States Code, or imprisoned for not more than 9 years, or both.
There's at least one guy using marijuana at any big popular music event, and any promoter reasonably ought to know it. Does that mean the promoter should be prosecuted?

Most of HR 834 is okay with me, but this section is too broad. Write your representatives (there's an easy form on the page linked above), especially if they're among the bill's sponsors, or on the Subcommittee on Education Reform, where the bill currently sits.
