E! P!

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but I've been a little quiet here the last week. Generally, I've been busy preparing for my cross-country drive. Specifically, I spent the last few days frantically finishing up enough tracks to have an EP I could imagine charging people money for.

And now I do! Have one, I mean. Pretty much. I dropped off the master at Mixonic for a test run yesterday; next week, if all goes well, I'll pick up a bigger batch to sell on the road. Woo hoo! Hooray!

Every track on the EP is, or has been, or will be on the web site, so if you want, you could burn your own CD, and you could even leave out that one song you think is really annoying. Mine will have better-quality audio, though, and you get a nice cover, designed by our friend [livejournal.com profile] xythian.

Oh, and speaking of every track on the EP, there are seven of them: updated mixes of four songs, new recordings of "Losing Streak" and "Everything You Read", and a brand! new! song! The new song will go up on the web site today; the others I will probably not get to until after I get back.

As promised, finally, another folk song. It's not even a "folktronica" song (thanks Scott!), although, well, I did use a couple of digitally simulated analog synths. Hm. But no drum loops.

Anyway, "By Your Side" is now up on the web site. I think it's the best song I've written, and the best recording I've made. You, of course, are free to disagree.
