The Canvas Gallery, 2003-09-03

After I dropped off my CD at Mixonic, I figured since I was in San Francisco on a Wednesday anyway I might as well stop by the Canvas again. My set seemed to go over better than last time, judging by the smaller number of people sitting right in front of me talking through the whole thing. I led with my second almost-a-cappella performance of "Motherless Child," which was by my standards a hit, and continued with the debut of "By Your Side". I was followed by someone with one of those voices that are so good and powerful they scare you.

Anyway: traditional songs are fun.

Lost in Translation was brilliant. Don't let [livejournal.com profile] artname or [livejournal.com profile] sethm tell you different. Oh, and if you're trying to remember where I've seen Scarlett Johansson before, the answer is, she was Enid's friend Rebecca in Ghost World.

Also, how great is it that Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star is opening on the same day as the new Macaulay Culkin movie?
