According to the latest poll, Kerry has a slight lead in Florida among likely voters. But they're only likely to vote if, you know, they're allowed to. Florida voters are encountering scams like: An automated voice calls with your chance to "vote by phone"! A young woman offers to pick up your absentee ballot "to ensure its safe delivery"! The "local elections office" calls to register you as a voter! And more, reported in the Guardian and Florida papers but treated as a local story by the rest of the American press.

Not to pick on Florida. Here's a roundup of the latest in election fraud from Ohio, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and South Dakota. And Florida. Oh, and the folks who were tearing up Democrat registrations in Nevada are at work in Pennsylvania too.

I'm going to Reno this weekend to knock on strangers' doors. What's happened to me?

Yay Reno!

Your mother and I couldn't be any prouder of you.

Honestly, I think it's cool that you're swinging to Reno to knock on doors. I'm trying to get hooked up with phone banking in Tucson, myself. It's good to see us young people involved.

I think we talked about this a year ago -- if Bush wins and we didn't do anything, shame on us.

Just so you know, you can phone bank from anywhere. I've been spending afternoons with a phone bank in Los Altos, writing letters to follow up their phone calls to Ohio. You can even make phone calls to potential volunteers from home, but who wants to do that?

Uhhh I do. I've made more than 100 calls from home, mostly to Pennsylvania. It's easier, but lonlier. If I had the time to drive somewhere and make calls, i would. But I mean, Los Altos? It's too far.
