Oct. 22nd, 2004 10:05 amThat Times Magazine article about George W. Bush and the nature of faith really is good. A lot of the individual anecdotes are nothing new to those who've been paying attention, but they're well collected and framed. Also, he's planning on 1-4 Supreme Court justices in his next term.
The magazine also had, in honor of election season, a whole cluster of articles on "How Americans Eat": Our nutrition obsession, our favorite regional dishes ("Moxie fits into the gastronomic pleasure category known as ''an acquired taste.'' If asked to recreate its flavor, I would start with stale diet root beer, add some wheatgrass, then throw in a bit of rhubarb juice and just a whisper of Vicks Formula 44 cough syrup."). Campaign food and cocktails. Two restaurants, one personal and always changing, the other franchised and dependable.
In other news: more election scams in Ohio.
