jfbMy favorite thing about seeing Hem--and they only come out here about once a year, so I get to forget it and rediscover it--is watching Dan and Gary sing along, conspicuously unmiked, for all the world as if they were fans of the band.
My second favorite thing is Steve Curtis's harmony singing, trailing the melody slightly like the ghost of the song.
Tied for third are the obvious things, the songs, the skill, the empathy.
My least favorite thing, tonight: No "Pacific Street", no "Beautiful Sea". But I've heard them before, I'll hear them again.
