My annual cough has as usual reached the point where I begin to believe it's actually consumption and I am facing imminent death. Stupidly, I didn't figure out when I got up this morning that it had taken a turn for the worse, so I went to work, and once there, again stupidly, I figured I might as well stay there and try to get something done.

Six shivery and infectious hours later I drove to the supermarket, loaded up on drugs and junk food, and now I'm home deciding whether to collapse in bed or in front of the TV.

On the other hand, I have inexplicably smooth and silky hair today, so I guess things aren't all bad.

Take an expectorant and a suppressant. Robitussin is my bible.

I was using Robi- and other -tussins, and once all the other symptoms turned up I bought some store-brand Fakequil, which is one of the vilest substances I've ever deliberately ingested. But it seems to be effective.
