All via Feministing:

Congratulations to Kuwait, which just granted women the right to vote and run for public office.

And to New York, which now has its own Rock Camp for Girls.

Less happily... not sure how to summarize this one... a Bush-appointed FDA official... who was instrumental in opposing the emergency contraceptive Plan B... well, sounds like a real horror.

I dream of starting a Rock n Roll Camp for Girls in Texas.

That'd be awesome.

I fully intend to put together another benefit for them this year (like I did last year in Houston).

In fact - I had an LJ community [livejournal.com profile] rockr_grls_camp dedicated to just that.

We have one in Portland -- just like New York to steal our thunder.

Yeah - I put together the benefit in Houston for Portland's RnRC4G "50 Shows in 50 States" deal last December. It was very awesome. Lots of other states/cities participated to raise money. It was a success, so I imagine they'll be doing more of those benefits. Very cool.

I agree, that would be awesome. What better place?

I hate how they use the term "anti-Christian litmus test" -- implying that simple identification is rejection. I want my language back!

What America really need is an "anti-crazy-religious-zealot" test.

I'm sick of your anti-zealot bigotry.

You're sounding suspiciously zealous there, mister...
