In Mullen, ID, my only auto service option was a guy down at the Exxon station who changes oil and tires, and wouldn't be able to get to me until afternoon. So I drove on to Missoula, where they told me I'd bent a wheel and would have to replace it. Nobody in Missoula had a suitable wheel in stock, though, so they did what they could to unbend mine, moved it to the back so it wouldn't pull on the steering wheel, and sent me on my way (to the Super 8, because by then it was too late to bother resuming the drive).

Today my goal is Glendive, MT. Montana is one of only three states I've ever driven all day across and still been in. But with luck I can make it farther today, and get to Dickinson, ND, where the Super 8 has wi-fi.

Montana's big, yeah, yeah. It's not small, no no.

Good luck with the car and the rest of the trip.

Well, if this crap with the car keeps up, there are lots more states you can drive across all day ..

Ack, I missed the note Sunday. Hope things proceed better than they have been.

It was friends-only until I talked to some loved ones, maybe that's why you missed it. Things are actually pretty good, despite car trouble.

Urg.

On the bright side, Montana is at least a gorgeous state to be stuck in.

Yeah, it's one of my favorites. Really, there was nothing bad about having to spend more time in Missoula.

ITS Mullan not Mullen
