I liked The 25th Hour in almost exactly the same way I liked the movie, and almost exactly as much. It's billed as "crime fiction", and there are criminals in it, but it's not much about crime, and it's not primarily suspenseful (especially if you've seen the movie). Instead it's about friendship and loyalty and fate and loss and time. And New York. Pretty great.

Our friends Bev and Greg stumbled upon the last Tin Cat show at Blue Rock Shoot, and Greg was so excited by it he wrote a concert review. Thanks, Greg! Our next show is tonight at Johnny V's, with a couple of terrific alt-country bands.

Nice review.

Did you know that if you go to that review, then click on the link of your name, then accidentally click the link to listen to "I Am Tempted" (while the computer is muted), then click on the link for Tin Cat's myspace and click to listen to "Losing Streak" to see how it differs from the solo version, then remember to turn on the sound, that the computer plays both songs simultaneously?

Hypothetically speaking, of course.

And because I didn't realize I'd clicked on the first song, I just thought it was a somewhat strange rendition of Losing Streak--one that focused more on ... well, the music and lyrics for I Am Tempted, with Losing Streak sneaking through here and there, like in Jessie's China Girl.

It'd be cooler if you'd managed to listen to two versions of "Losing Streak" at once.

Erik, Colin. Hope the show went ok. I totally forgot I had a show the same night at Red Rock in Mt. View. I meant to ask if you would play with me because it was a two hour set. I ended up doing the whole thing myself. To my suprise I pulled it off without much of a problem. Yay for me! I was so worried before the show though. Anyway, I hope to be able to catch the next Tin Cat or Erik Ostrom show. Talk to soon.
