open mike report

jfbDrove down to Santa Clara for what I think was supposed to be M.G.'s last open mike. By the time I got there, though, it had become instead a drama. I don't know the details, but the host had absented himself, leaving a gaggle of teenagers to fend for themselves with only a PA and a great deal of coffee, and apparently no musical instruments.
The cafe worker came out from behind the bar to deliver a surprisingly good a cappella rendition of "The Rainbow Connection"--so heartfelt I couldn't quite watch. Then someone else started "Walkin' After Midnight" and I left.
On the way home "Under Pressure" came on the radio. I'm embarrassed to say I spent a few seconds trying to figure out why KFOG ("World Class Rock") was playing Vanilla Ice.
This is my first post with LiveLizard. It would be better if either Insert Link or Source View worked. I'd provide a link to the home page, but, you know. Still, it's a start.
(Update: It'd be a lot better if "Update Journal" worked.)
