Some of you are familiar with the Atherton police blotter--not online in concentrated form, but the Mercury News occasionally graces us with excerpts like "CITIZEN ASSIST About 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, a person on the 200 block of Park Lane requested assistance to close a door."

Now, via This Modern World, behold the Arcata police blotter:
10:51 p.m. In an incident cloaked in ambivalence, a person either suffering with or enjoying a state of "elevated behavior" was reported either screaming or yelling.

8:19 p.m. Someone's Great American RV vacation involved a prolonged stay parked along pristine, scenic and serene Tavern Row.

Friday, March 28 1:03 a.m. An anti-war vandal defaced various downtown businesses. No immediate comment from the White House.

I noticed the following item in this morning's San Jose Mercury News:
DISTURBANCE: A man and woman were admonished to stay away from each other about 7 p.m. Friday at Whisman Park, East Street and Middlefield Road. Both were walking their dogs when the woman said the man's dog mounted her dog without permission. She asked the man to separate the dogs. When he refused, she threw a plastic water bottle at him. The man grabbed the water bottle and returned it in a manner that resulted in a 1/16-inch cut inside her lip. The man and woman declined prosecution.
