And charkes points out that it's also the National Day of Prayer here in the Republic of Gilead. Although I'm not a praying man myself, something in me responds to the president's observation that "it's a good time to be praying."

I learned that it was national prayer day today over lunch when the following story was related to me by a coworker: he mentioned to management how religion was a divisive issue in our company (in that management is in the church, and protected, no matter what) and one of the managers said to him, apparently without irony, "Well, it's National Prayer Day, did you want to be invited to pray along with us?"

If I didn't feel sick enough already...
