dream report

Woke up in the middle of the night to the quiet footsteps of a small animal running on the sheet behind my head. Tried to turn and look, but most of my muscles hadn't woken up yet.

Woke up. Left the light on the rest of the night.

Wait, is this a dream report or a disturbing middle of the night half-awake report?

Desperately hoping the former.

I used to get unpleasant scratching noises in my walls at my apartment, another reason I'm glad I moved. In that situation, I recommend you not read H.P. Lovecraft's "The Rats in the Walls" while trying to get to sleep.

How about if I stay home sick from work watching Pitch Black?

That's preferable. I should check my vacation hours and take a day off to watch all these movies stacking up on my desk in DVD and on my TiVo.

your dream

Had to write in about this one!
I cracked up for a whole 1/2 hour after reading it. I mean real belly laughs. So thanks...!

How fascinating. For years I had repeating dreams of furry animals, both recognizable and not, eating away at the walls of my apartment. This was a very unpleasant repeating dream which I have not had in a long time (not since I started sharing a bed with Philip Rodriguez, that's for sure). But I did once wake up with a start in the middle of the night to the sound of purrs vibrating all around me. It was the Shekhinah (feminine face of God), embodied in the form of Puck, my black-and-white kitty, who was acting as cathat on my pillow. Peace, Meredith

Huh. That sounds like a much better way to wake up.
