Tonight was the first show I've done since seeing the doctor, and also, not coincidentally, the first show I've ever done entirely on guitar, which seems less harmful than the mandolin. I threw my first actual folk song into the set--"Motherless Child", the Wayfaring Strangers version of which caught my attention on the drive to the show--intending to do it a capella to give my hand a rest, but I wasn't feeling comfortable enough with the crowd to go through with it. So I sketched out a bass line on the guitar. It was probably better anyway.
The singing all felt pretty good, the guitar was mostly okay, and the endorphins kicked in so I won't feel the pain I incurred until tomorrow morning. Something to look forward to.
