The Times's "Frugal Traveler" goes to Portland and spends $110 a night on lodging.

Proposed regulations may hinder the food industry in Europe. The idea is that it will be illegal to advertise health benefits of foods that are unhealthy--like, if a food is made entirely of sugar, you won't be able to market it as a low-sodium snack, even though it does have no sodium. The article worries about companies "that mainly sell foods or drinks that are high in fat, sugar or salt - like Cadbury Schweppes of Britain and Hershey Foods and McDonald's of the United States." But, um, who's buying candy bars for their health?

oh god, that ann coulter article made me want to barf. and believe me, finding her picture on the front page of your favorite section when you pick the paper up off the floor in front of your door on a lazy sunday is truly not the best way to start the day.

Not really. But the ones I have looked at and/or tried seemed to have a major ingredient of corn syrup. Not sure how much healthier they really are than say a snickers bar which is much yummier if you ask me.
