Either one of the bigwigs at the paper just got a home theatre system and decided, 'Hey, this new technology is just the kind of cutting-edge subject that would bring young people back to regular newspaper reading,' or The Times' arts staff resolved to consciously pay tribute to the paper's famous 1982 pull-out section whose articles all centered around the revolutionary possibilities of Betamax (our favorite piece was John J. O'Connor's 'We'll Never Watch "Manimal" the Same Way Again').So there you go.
